Mentoring
Learning photography can be so much fun, and an amazing outlet for some of that creative juice that I know is flowing around in each and every one of us. When I first started this as a hobby years ago, I took an amazing mentor-ship and workshop classes through a great local portrait and travel photographer. This helped me quickly learn the in-and-outs of camera settings and jump-started my love and enthusiasm for capturing those details I never want to forget.
Later on, when I started my own business, I quickly realized there is SO much more running one than I thought. I’d still be struggling if it were not for my mentors. One-on-one time with someone who knows their stuff is just about the best investment of your time and money you can make to improve your art, craft and business. I love to teach, and I’d be thrilled to help take your photography to the next level!
Mentoring Options
Individual Photography Lesson $150: 60-90 minutes, one-on-one in-person lesson
Our time can be used to go over a variety of topics, depending on what you’re hoping to learn! Topics include, but are not limited to, basic camera settings, lens selection, finding the light, posing, capturing the everyday, editing program options, additional equipment, and Q&A. We can meet up at a local cafe to chat first, then do some hands-on shooting together!
*Feel free to inquire about a group rate if you have friends who are also wanting to learn!
Shadow and Learn $200: Shadow/assist (with client permission) at one of my sessions
I will go over camera settings with you before and during the session. You can observe and shoot alongside me, and we will have a short debrief afterwards to go over any questions. This includes 1 week of follow-up email support for questions that you might have related to our session.
A Session Just for You $400: A session with a model family, couple, or individual designed with you in mind
I will find us models and we will do a session together while focusing on your needs. We will take our time to go over camera settings, posing (you can practice taking the wheel on this one without fear!), lighting, and any questions you may have during the shoot. Afterwards, I will upload some images and show you how I edit in Lightroom, and go over workflow tips. This also includes a 1 week follow-up of email support for any questions that may pop up later on related to our session.
